Apache Junction is a city located in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, Maricopa County. It is bordered by Mesa city, Superstition Mountains and the Goldfield Mountains. The area covered by the city is 34.2 sq. mile (109 km2). No land is covered by water. The city comprises of 38,131 inhabitants. About 16,000 households are there and 9,500 families are living in the area. Male proportion in the population is 48.1 percent and that of female is 51.9 percent. Population density is 1114 / sq. mile. The median resident age is 50 years. 91.3 percent population is Caucasian, 0.91 percent is African American, 0.76 percent is Asian, 0.79 percent is American Indian, and 0.06 percent are native Hawaiian and rest 6 percent belongs to different races. 25 percent of the population comprises of youth. English and Spanish are the major languages that are used as communication tool among the people. Christianity is the leading religion practiced in the city.

There is a teacher for every 18 students. 11.7 percent residents completed their Bachelors degree, 4.1 percent completed Masters Degree requirements and 0.8 percent passed Professional degree exam. There is absence of University or Professional College in the city.
